KUALA LUMPUR, 11 OCTOBER 2022 – SK magic has recently received a total of 12 awards, including five gold medals at the “2022 Good Design Award (GD)” for the second year in a row, four awards at the “2022 Red Dot Design Awards,” one of the world’s top three design awards and also accomplished the remarkable feat of winning three awards in the ‘IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) 2022. SK magic has once again raised the bars in product design, design concept, and brand and communication design.
The “Red Dot Design Award,” established in Germany in 1955, is one of the world’s three major design awards, along with Germany’s “iF” and the United States’ “IDEA.” Every year, the best design is determined by assessing design excellence, creativity, and functionality in three categories: product design, design concept, and brand and communication design.
SK magic’s Borderless Induction has won all four major design awards in the world by winning the “Winner” in the product design category at the “2022 Red Dot Design Award”
In the product design category which is competed and held in March, “Borderless Induction” won the grand prize. Borderless Induction also won all four major design awards in the world, including Germany’s “iF”, “Red Dot Design”, the United States’ “IDEA”, and Japan’s “Good Design Awards”, achieving the “Grand Slam.”

In addition to the four prestigious awards, SK magic has also won five gold medals at the “2022 Good Design Award (GD)” for the second year in a row. The Good Design Award, organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) and hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, is Korea’s most prestigious design award ceremony, held annually since 1985 in accordance with the Industrial Design Promotion Act. The “Good Design (GD)” mark is awarded to products that have been recognized for their excellent design by thoroughly examining the product’s appearance, function, material, and economic feasibility.

The brand has achieved a total of five products and designs selected as good designs in the product design sector alone, including the 14-person Dishwasher “Touch-on Pro,” Eco-mini water purifier Green 41, Eco-clean Food Processor, and All-power Induction. The nation’s largest 14-person dishwasher, Touch-on-Pro, is the same size as the existing 12-person type, but maximizes internal load space efficiency, allowing customers to create their own kitchen space by adding various coloured panels to harmonize the kitchen interior.

At the ‘IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) 2022’ in the United States, SK magic is also awarded “The World-famous International Design Award” for its Eco-mini water purifier Green 41, including ‘Bronze’ in the living and kitchen category.
The IDEA Design Award, hosted by the Industrial Design Association of America (IDSA), is an international design award celebrating its 42nd anniversary this year. It is one of the world’s three major design awards, alongside the German Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award.
The bronze-winning Eco-mini water purifier, Green 41, received high marks in all evaluation categories, including innovation, environmental consideration, functionality, ease of use, aesthetics, stability, and durability. It was praised for being a distinct eco home appliance that uses water pressure without consuming power and employs eco-friendly materials. It is made of 64.4% recycled plastic known as Post-Consumer Recycled-ABS (PCR).

It was praised for achieving harmony with the kitchen through its clean colour and design.

In the design strategy category, SK magic’s design identity strategy ‘Natural Monochrome’ was also awarded as the Finalist. Natural Monochrome was recognized for its effort to become a part of life by aiming for “naturalness in life” with a restrained design that removes decoration and virtuosity and naturalness that focuses on the essence of home appliances as well as harmony with space.
